ABOUT Glow Trigger
Rethinking the Night Light
The Origin Story
It started with a hallway, not a lab.
Our house has one long hallway between the bedrooms and the kitchen, and for years it was pitch black after dark. Every trip for a glass of water turned into a slow shuffle with one hand on the wall, feeling for the corner before I walked into it. Flipping on the hallway light fixed the visibility problem and created a new one — it was bright enough to wake up everyone else in the house.
Once we had a baby in the house, that same hallway became a nightly obstacle course. Carrying him from room to room in the dark, trying not to step on a stray toy, one arm full and the other hand out ahead like a cane — it was the same problem, just with higher stakes. What I wanted was almost embarrassingly simple: a light that noticed me walking by and turned itself on, then turned itself back off once I’d passed. No switch. No searching.
Why Existing Lights Didn't Cut It
Once I actually went looking, it turned out that simple idea was harder to find than expected.
Permanent Wiring
Most automatic lighting solutions meant cutting into drywall and running wire — a real project, and not one a renter can take with them when they move.
A Switch by Any Other Name
Plenty of "smart" lights still needed a manual switch, an app, or a voice command to turn on. That's not automatic — that's just a different kind of searching in the dark.
Expensive to Start, Expensive to Leave
Between installation costs and the electric bill, wired lighting adds up fast — and none of it comes with you if you move.
So we built the light we actually wanted.
One that mounts or plugs in without tools, senses you the moment you walk by, and runs reliably without wiring, apps, or Wi-Fi to configure. That idea became Glow Trigger.
What Sets Glow Trigger Apart

Motion-Activated, Nothing Else
Every light responds to movement on its own — no app to download, no network to join, no setup screen to get through first.

No Installation Hassle
No drilling, no wiring, no electrician. Plug it in or mount it, and it's ready.

Built to Last
We use components chosen for reliability over the long haul, not just for looking good on a spec sheet.
Held to a Higher Standard
Quality Components, Start to Finish
Better LEDs and sensors go into every unit, aimed at a brighter, more consistent glow over time.
Tested Beyond the Spec Sheet
Every design goes through repeated lab and real-home testing before it's considered ready to sell.
Inspected Before It Ships
Each unit is checked for quality before it leaves our facility, so it works the moment it's unboxed.
